Originally used to make porcelain in the 7th and 8th centuries, China clay has since become a popular skin care ingredient in Asian culture. Also known as Kaolin—named after the high ridge in China from which its primary mineral was originally mined for centuries—China clay is super absorbent and especially helpful in reducing oiliness. A soft and soothing clay for smooth, luminous skin.

What's In It
Deep in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, this remarkable red clay is formed by a natural combination of volcanic activity and geothermal changes. When used on the skin, it helps draw out impurities and deeply cleanse. Gentle, yet effective, Moroccan lava clay is known to help increase elasticity in the skin without stripping skin of beneficial oils. Silky smooth and instantly soothing, it’s an age-old secret that helps leave skin healthy, hydrated and renewed.
From Krysuvik, in the Reykjanesskagi—Iceland’s most active geothermal region—comes this deep-cleansing, natural exfoliator. Its fine, round particles are ideal for lifting away dull, tired skin cells. In the right combinations, and combined with select ingredients, volcanic sand gently and effectively removes dirt and grime. The result is skin that feels supple and revitalized.
What place does a gritty black substance have in your skin care regimen? Believe it or not, activated charcoal powder helps clear away impurities. China has a long history of using activated charcoal made from bamboo, primarily to purify water. The activated charcoal powder inside Purify Deep Cleansing Clay Mask comes from the same bamboo, and works to draw dirt, chemicals and other micro-particles to the surface of the skin, clearing out the pores. Leaving skin fresh and clean.
The plant species Coffea arabica got its name around the 7th century when the bean crossed the Red Sea from Ethiopia to present-day Yemen and lower Arabia. While it’s believed to be the first species of coffee to be cultivated for drinking, our interest in the Arabian-origin coffee bean is for something else entirely. Arabica coffee seed powder contains concentrated doses of fatty acids that, when applied to skin, helps leave it supple and smooth. Topical use of coffee promotes moisture retention and can help improve skin elasticity. The caffeine contained within the seeds helps nourish and tone for an even complexion. This is the new reason to love coffee. 100% sustainable, non-GMO.
Native to the Sous Valley of southern Morocco, argan shells are the shells of the seeds inside the precious argan fruit. Finely-crushed argan shells have been used for centuries to effectively cleanse and purify by gently lifting away dull, dead skin cells. With hydrating properties similar to nutrient-rich argan oil, argan shell powder is also high in vitamin E, an antioxidant that can help skin fight the signs of aging. These hard-working granules don’t quit until skin is brighter and smoother. For a more youthful, healthier-looking complexion. 100% sustainable, sourced from a woman’s co-op.
